What are your first thoughts when you think of summer? Holidays abroad to lay on the beach and soak up the sun or exploring new cities and cultures? Or is it time spent at home with your family having BBQ’s in the garden? or days out turned into nights out with friends? Whatever your perfect summer looks like, I think we all have one thing in common and it’s that summer consists of making some of the best memories of our lives.
Whether you are a novice or expert when it comes to taking photos, capturing your summer moments is the best way to keep them alive forever. One photograph can make you feel a million things all at once while transporting you back to the very moment it was taken. Everyone has the ability to capture those special moments and what better way to create lasting memories than with the Best CSC Camera. Panasonic have created a compact system camera to rival any other, allowing you to capture those moments of laughter, vibrance and those magical experiences you just cant afford to forget.
In celebration of creating the best summer memories, I’ve put together my collection of my favourite and most picturesque locations in Glasgow.
- The Corinthian Club
~ 91 Ingram St, Merchant City, Glasgow G1 1DA
This is probably my favourite location in Glasgow, hence why I’ve chosen this venue to host a very special event for me later this year! Whether its date nights, catch-ups with friends, quintessential cocktails or a late night at the casino, the Corinthian has it all. You’ll often find me here, between the jaw-dropping architecture, boutique style design and bustling weekend ambience, The Corinthian is definitely my go-to. Heading here for a meal? Try out their £30 Steak Deal for two!
2. Blythswood Square
~ 11 Blythswood Square, Glasgow G2 4AD
A bloggers favourite; picturesque stone buildings, floral staircases and with one of the best hotels in Glasgow situated on the square, whats not to love? The Blythswood Square hotel hosts the absolute best afternoon tea, theres no way you can possibly leave hungry after three full tiers of delightfulness! Not forgetting about the 5* spa situated within the hotel; for a day of relaxation, rejuvenation and possibly a load of cakes and prosecco, the SPA at the Blythswood is a must. But if like me you often just want to prance around in hope of the perfect outfit shots, the square is the perfect place to go!
3. Kcal Kitchen
~ 130 W Regent St, Glasgow G2 2RQ
A newbie but a goodie! If like me you still have a summer holiday to go on, head here for all your favourite dishes made healthy; I’m talking salt and chilli chicken and chicken burgers so tasty you’d think they were from KFC, Oh and literally the BEST protein pancakes! Over the past year Kcal has become one of my absolute favourite places to eat; breakfast, lunch and dinner, I’ve found myself opting to go here, swapping unhealthy fast food for some well balanced meals, just because the food genuinely does taste that good!!
4. West End
Theres so much in Glasgow’s West End that is worth a visit, after 3 years of attending uni over there and a whole year calling it my home, I definitely appreciate the quirkiness of this location. With everything from the most beautiful gardens perfect for a summers day (The Botanic Gardens), Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the amazing architecture of the University of Glasgow if you wanna feel like you are entering Hogwarts for a few minutes, there is so much to see.
– Ashton Lane, a quaint cobbled lane situated just off Byres Road is great for a few drinks in the sun in a beer garden at one of the many pubs and bars which sit along the lane. Head to the Grosvenor Cafe and be amazed at the sheer size of the bar and restaurant upstairs which used to be a cinema. However, not to let its roots be forgotten, the Grosvenor cinema can be found just downstairs hosting only two screens. For a chic but cosy cinema experience, head here! You can even hire a private couch for some optimum movie watching comfort – which is my personal favourite!
– Stop off at Crolla’s on Byres Road for ice cream of all flavours and some seriously impressive creations. Little Italy, just a few stops along Byres Road from Crolla’s, is my favourite spot for a quick breakfast before a lecture at uni. With great deals, good coffee and marble tables, it’s the perfect pre-uni pitstop.
5. Buchanan Street
If you’re an avid shopper like me, Buchanan Street is 100% the place to be. But even if you’re not, just walk from one end to the other and feel the hustle and bustle of Glasgow, the warmth of the Glasgow people and probably the bitter breeze of the Glasgow air (cause it’s more than likely gonna be cold, you are one lucky person if you catch the city on a sunny day). Head into Princes Square for a selection of restaurants and high-end high-street shops if thats your sort of thing. For a drink, head up to level three of Princes Square to one of my favourite cocktail bars, ‘October’. Alternatively, pop round to Royal Exchange Square to ‘The Social’ or ‘One up’.
Some of my Other Favourite Places In Glasgow:
~ Metropolitan (restaurant and cocktail bar) – Try the Rainbow Shots!
~ Hutchesons City Grill – Head here for the Bubbles and Brunch or for some cocktail sipping at marble tables in the bar area!
~ Slug and Lettuce Glasgow – Try the Tapastails!
~ Miller & Carter Glasgow – the best steak around!
~ The Dakota Deluxe Hotel – Luxurious furnishings, comfy beds and the best staff!
I hope you enjoyed reading my little Glasgow city guide!
Wishing you the best Summer Moments,
